About the Team

The EMEA Regulatory Litigation team sits within the broader EMEA Disputes function and is responsible for managing responses to regulatory authorities across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Turkey. The team works on high-profile, precedent-setting regulatory investigations and related litigation. This is a fast-paced and dynamic environment offering the opportunity to engage in novel regulatory matters with a market-leading legal team.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Privacy Lawyer to join our EMEA Regulatory Litigation team on secondment. The successful candidate will assist with and manage privacy-related regulatory investigations and associated litigation from inception through to resolution.

Why This Role

This is an opportunity to work on genuinely precedent-setting matters at the forefront of privacy and regulatory law. The team's portfolio includes complex privacy enforcement actions, challenges before EU and national courts, and regulatory investigations involving novel legal questions at the intersection of privacy law, technology, and product innovation.

You will gain direct exposure to multi-jurisdictional regulatory strategy, high-stakes litigation, and the practical application of AI tools in legal workflows, all within a collaborative and high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied portfolio of privacy-related regulatory matters across the EU, Middle East, Africa and Turkey (AMET), including responses to regulatory inquiries and investigations, compliance with regulatory decisions and orders, and appeals or judicial reviews before administrative bodies or courts.
  • Lead the development and management of factual and expert evidence where appropriate.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to design and implement strategic approaches to resolving regulatory matters and mitigating regulatory and litigation risk.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to stakeholders across product, commercial, and policy functions.
  • Manage external counsel relationships, including oversight of budgets, strategy, and reporting.
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools for document review, regulatory research, workflow optimisation, and the development of scalable processes and playbooks for managing regulatory matters.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified Solicitor or Barrister in England & Wales, Ireland, an EU jurisdiction, or equivalent common law jurisdiction.
  • Minimum 6 years' post-qualification experience gained within a leading law firm and/or in-house legal environment.
  • Strong experience advising on privacy, data protection, or regulatory enforcement matters.
  • Proven litigation or regulatory investigation experience, including managing proceedings or regulatory responses.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal advice clearly and effectively to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience within the technology sector, other highly regulated industries, or regulatory enforcement agencies.
  • Experience advising on legal and regulatory risk relating to technology products and digital platforms.
  • Familiarity with EU court procedures, including proceedings before the CJEU or General Court, and multi-jurisdictional regulatory coordination.
  • Experience managing large-scale disclosure exercises, evidence-gathering projects, or compliance programmes.
