Mid - Senior Lending Lawyer – In House (12-Month Contract)
Full-Time | 12-Month Contract Start Date: ASAP Hybrid | UK & Europe
We’re looking for an experienced Banking & Finance lawyer to join our client, a leading international financial institution. This role offers the chance to work closely with lending and credit teams across the UK and Europe, providing strategic legal support on a broad range of financing transactions and client matters.
This position would suit a mid-to-senior level qualified lawyer with strong experience in corporate lending and banking transactions who enjoys working in a commercial, fast-paced environment.
The Opportunity You will provide legal support across a diverse flow lending portfolio, advising on a wide range of financing transactions while partnering with senior business stakeholders to help manage risk and support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Advise on a broad spectrum of lending transactions, including revolving credit facilities, term loans and overdraft facilities.
Negotiate and review facility agreements based on LMA documentation and, where relevant, LSTA precedents across both bilateral and syndicated transactions.
Support complex syndicated financings, including bespoke structures and multi-party negotiations.
Advise on sustainability-linked lending arrangements, including KPI-based margin ratchets and ESG-related covenant packages.
Deliver practical, commercially focused legal advice on lending transactions and related client matters.
Provide guidance on legal, regulatory and reputational risk issues, including sanctions, anti-money laundering considerations and wider conduct-related matters.
Support wider credit and lending initiatives, including regulatory change, transformation and process improvement projects.
Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting lending products and communicate key implications to stakeholders.
About You
Mid-to-senior lawyer with significant banking and finance experience.
Strong expertise in both syndicated and bilateral lending transactions.
Excellent knowledge of LMA documentation; familiarity with LSTA documentation would be advantageous.
Proven experience advising on a wide range of corporate lending products and structures.
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to provide pragmatic, business-focused advice.
Experience in leveraged finance and/or project finance would be beneficial but is not essential.
