An American multinational law firm is looking for an experienced antitrust/competition lawyer to provide cover for a maternity leave.
The firm has over 1,500 lawyers and its clients include corporations, financial institutions, government agencies, universities, and health care organisations.
What will the role involve?
You’ll be supporting the firm’s work on:
Substantive risk assessments, strategic advocacy, and coordination of multi-jurisdictional filings.
Investigations under Article 101(1) and 102 TFEU (or national equivalents) before the European Commission and national competition authorities.
A client base that includes private equity funds and strategic corporates, requiring commercial awareness and responsiveness.
You will:
Run and supervise multi-jurisdictional merger control and FDI reviews, including drafting advocacy submissions and managing filing processes.
Lead on competition investigations, liaising with regulators and preparing strategic responses.
Communicate clearly and confidently with clients via calls and emails, and take a proactive approach to building strong client and team relationships.
Support the development of junior lawyers by identifying growth opportunities and providing training.
Integrate smoothly into the team, adapting to new dynamics and contributing to a collaborative culture.
What skills do you need?
Proven experience in international merger control and competition investigations, particularly involving PE and strategic clients.
Strong client communication skills, with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
The ability to lead and supervise complex matters and support junior colleagues.
A collaborative, adaptable approach and a genuine commitment to teamwork and professional development.
