Our client in the FMCG space, require support from a Portuguese-qualified lawyer for the next 3 months to support with the transfer of the business to a new entity.
The role
Leading and managing sales contracts - currently operating under a concessionaire model with 18 partners across Portugal.
Driving commercial agreements within the in-home business - managing 15-20 customers, including 5-6 key accounts.
Managing supply chain agreements and supplier negotiations - with the majority conducted on supplier paper.
Partnering with procurement and sales teams to support operational execution.
Advising on competition considerations within commercial contracting - particularly important given their strong market position and the need to navigate competition-sensitive negotiations.
Supporting corporate matters relating to the spin-out, collaborating with external counsel on M&A related work (deep expertise not required, but comfort handling external counsel and managing transactional communications is important).
Partnering closely with the Legal Counsel for Iberia on discovery and integration activities, helping drive operational improvements and aligning local processes with the broader organisation.
Skills required
Senior lawyer
Portuguese speaking, Portuguese qualified
Solid commercial contracts experience in FMCG context
Comfortable handling competition issues in relation to commercial contracts
Team player and great business partner, collaborative
Work pattern
Part-time, 3 days per week (may consider full-time for the right person)
Location
Ideally some office time in Lisbon to build relationships with the team
