Our client in the FMCG space, require support from a Portuguese-qualified Employment/Labour lawyer for the next 3 months to support with the transfer of the business to a new entity.
The role
Conducting a full assessment of the inherited employment framework, identifying gaps, risks, and any unorthodox legacy practices within the family-run business to ensure alignment with legal and policy best practice.
Providing clear recommendations on required changes to policies, benefits, and working practices, including areas where overly generous benefits may need to be rationalised, working closely with local HR to ensure changes are practical, compliant, and well-communicated.
Acting as a trusted partner to the Global Head of Employment, supporting on this wider transition and contributing to the overall people-transition strategy for the Portuguese business.
Advising the business on employment-law compliance across day-to-day matters, ensuring the business meets statutory requirements while maintaining a pragmatic and solution-oriented approach.
Supporting the integration of employment practices into the broader organisation, aligning Portugal's systems, policies, and ways of working with global standards.
Collaborating with HR, operational leaders, and the integration team to drive people-related improvements that support organisational effectiveness and cultural alignment.
