This role sits within the Litigation, Regulatory Enforcement & Investigations (LREI) team, which provides litigation, regulatory enforcement and investigations-related advice, guidance, and support to the Group in the UK and EU. What does the client need help with? Our Client need an extra pair of hand for the next 5 months from a paralegal on their busy LREI team! What will the role involve? This is a really exciting role for one of our paralegals to gain phenomenal exposure at one of the world's largest financial institutions. They will work in fast-paced and exciting Litigation, Regulatory Enforcement & Investigations team and play a key role in keeping the team operating effectively. The scope includes the following:
Review and triage legal post to ensure documents are sent to the right internal teams.
Assist internal teams with UK bank related litigation matters e.g., response to court orders, pre-action claims, FOS complaints, and other matters which give rise to litigation risk.
Assist external counsel which manages the UK bank’s high volume / low value litigation cases (including document collection, internal updates).
Assist in setting up and managing document review processes.
Assist LREI lawyers with a mix of litigation and regulatory / investigation cases.
What skills do they need? Experience of working with legal teams, preferably litigation. Ability to communicate in a clear and succinct manner and be confident to do appropriate tasks autonomously. Confidence in working in a team environment, and (at times) under tight deadlines. Teamwork and relationship building skills. Ability to prioritise, often flexibly against the backdrop of changing facts and stakeholder demands. Good oral and written communication skills. Forward-leaning proactive approach.
