We're looking for an R&D lawyer to support a large NHS Trust for 6 months.
You'll be joining a small team of R&D lawyers and you'll be supporting with Oncology R&D-related legal matters. Your role will include:
Working with professors, researchers, patients, pharma companies, and grant giving funds on the legal side of oncology-related matters
This role would suit someone who was looking for broad and varied experience across cutting edge technology such as AI, and for the development of new drugs for oncology
Working closely with the team to allocate funding effectively for new research
Ensuring compliance in a heavily regulated legal world
Dealing with ad-hoc legal queries related to the above
Ideally, you'll have prior experience in R&D from a pharma or life sciences background or other regulated background.
This assignment will be full time, although we could also consider 3 or 4 days, with some office presence in Cambridge. It is due to start in January and is expected to run for 6 months.

Substantive Legal Experience Role Overview
We're working with a market-leading global law firm who are looking for a real estate finance lawyer to provide interim support. You'd work closely with partners and senior lawyers on transactional matters, particularly in real estate finance.
Key Responsibilities
Support on real estate finance transactions, including development finance, and investment financing

Substantive Legal Experience We are looking for a Legal Pricing Manager to join us for an exciting secondment with one of our longest standing clients, a global tech organisation.
What the role will involve:
Supporting the EMEA Legal team on spend management initiatives;
Negotiating AFAs on high-legal spend matters and proactively looking for opportunities to negotiate AFAs;
Assist with trainings re AFAs;
Running RFPs including attending follow-up interviews with Outside Counsel and the legal team;
Collaborate with the legal team to create RFP templates for RFPs;
Collaborate with our RFP vendor team to build RFP templates;
Legal market analysis and benchmarking to support (and agree) rate negotiations with law firms across the EMEA region;
Draft process documents and playbooks;
Negotiations with law firms on pricing individual matters.
Ideal skills and experience you will have:
Prior experience at both an in-house legal department and a law firm/legal consulting service provider in EMEA
8+ years’ working in pricing / commercial finance / procurement roles in the legal sector
Outside Counsel management including experience in benchmarking hourly rates
Solid understanding of legal pricing specifically knowledge of and experience in negotiating AFAs
Experience in developing/implementing solutions through financial modelling to support pricing decisions and operational improvements

You'll be joining the team at an exciting time whilst the business is growing and set to be busy with a push on product launch and development.
You'll be working on the legal aspects of product launching, ensuing all requirements are met to ensure smooth market entry. You'll also work on the contract negotiations involved in acquiring products, while providing legal support and guidance to the SME banking function to help navigate complex transactions and mitigate potential risks.
Ideally you will be a mid to senior level banking lawyer with previous experience from a similar in house background. Substantive Legal Experience We are currently working with one of our longstanding clients, a global tech organisation for a Products Lawyer, preferably with expertise across telecommunications.
Ideally you will have a background in telecommunications, spam detection and prevention, encryption, privacy, security, regulatory compliance.
Essential experience across issues regarding text messaging, phone calls, spam across calling and messaging, encryption issues and general comms enablement.
On an initial 6 to 12 months contract your duties will include but not limited to:
Providing input and approval on new features, including obtaining cross functional input on various projects (e.g., Privacy or Competition specialist analysis) where needed.
Engaging and leading in strategic and regulatory initiatives.
Providing leads with legal and regulatory updates on a quarterly basis or as needed.
Our assignments are predominantly full time, working on a hybrid model within the London area and surrounding suburbs.

Substantive Legal Experience We are currently working with a global technology organisation, to bring a new lawyer with datasets experience into the team. This will be initially on a 6 month basis but with possibility to be extended.
The ideal applicant will have a strong background in commercial transactions, IP licensing and privacy law. Being able to balance legal, cultural and business demands and produce practical, solution-focused advice is essential.
The role will see you, but is not limited to:
Helping with dataset clearance/reviews.
Identifying and advise on legal/risk considerations around dataset usage (e.g. IP, licensing, privacy, policy and governance considerations), used for development of AI technologies.
Advising on interpretation of regulations that may have implications on the use of that data (e.g. GDPR, DMA).
Advising on scope of data licence agreements.
Drafting policies and governance processes for the ingestion and use of data.

Substantive Legal Experience LOD have seen an increase in Data Privacy opportunities from a range of clients across the Media, Technology, FMCG and Professional Services sectors.
These positions may see you:
Assisting with Data Privacy Rights response processes (e.g. requests for access or deletion).
Assisting with Data Mapping, DPIAs, and Data Protection Regulator enquiries.
The development of internal policies and guidance for privacy and data governance practices.
Focusing on the Online Safety Act, including Youth Safety.
Providing legal advice and day-to-day support to cross-functional groups responsible for auditor, regulator, and third-party relationships.
Performing legal research and provide practical advice on emerging global privacy regulations, including providing expertise to the policy and government relations team.
The ideal lawyer will be at least 2 years PQE and have experience working within an in-house team, focusing on Data Protection projects.

Substantive Legal Experience We're looking for mid-level South African-qualified Commercial lawyers to join our fantastic team to support various clients in the financial services, tech and telecoms sectors.
Ideally you will:
have between 5 - 7 years' PQE of commercial legal experience;
have strong commercial contracts experience, particularly sales contracts, within the financial, tech or telecoms sectors;
have experience advising on contracts from other jurisdictions - particularly the UK;
be flexible and have great communication skills, and ability to work with the wider team based in different time zones.
